Jeanie Marie Buss, an American businesswoman from America. She is the controlling owner of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association and currently serves as its president. Buss, who is originally from California, was raised in an extremely wealthy family. Jerry Buss, her father, was an entrepreneur in the field of real estate and later eventually became the proprietor of Lakers Entertainment and Sports. The emotional strain she felt was exacerbated as her parents divorced in 1972. When she was 19 years old, she began working for the family's business, serving as general manager for the Los Angeles Strings professional tennis team. She founded later an organization called the Los Angeles Blades, a professional, roller-hockey club. She also served as director of the Great Western Forum before assuming the role of vice president for the Lakers. Buss and her siblings, five brothers and sisters and their father who owned the Lakers and was their controlling shareholder up to his death in 2013, inherited this ownership through an estate. They each were entitled to equally the right to vote. She assumed the office as president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is co-owner of Women of Wrestling an pro-wrestling promotional business based out of Los Angeles.
