Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents named her Winona for her home town. Michel Horowitz' father was an author and editor, as were Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder is a Jewish. Ryder believes that her father was from an ethnically Jewish origin. Ryder also has a half-sister, Sunyata Jubal. Her younger sibling is Uria. Ryder as well as her entire family moved to Mendocino, California, when Ryder was only seven years old. They lived in a place without electric power. Ryder was a voracious reading book because there was no television. Ryder began taking classes in acting at the American Conservatory Theatre when she was 12 years old. Lucas, a 1986 film, was her first major character. Ryder was just fifteen when she landed the role. Ryder suffered from bullying throughout highschool. Her professional acting, she believed, would help her. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. However, she continued to pursue her dreams. In 1988, in the year Tim Burton released Beetlejuice that gave her her first big break. Ryder kept playing successful roles in several movies. In 1993 she received two nominations for Academy Awards. One of them for her role as a character in The Age of Innocence.
